My inner tail light is sticking out!!

Hi all,

Just back from some shopping and I noticed my inner right tail light is sticking out! There has been no impact, anyone else had this?

My dad had the same issue with his 62 plate F30. The whole unit was replaced under warranty by the dealer. Common problem apparently.

Yup my n/s did the same last year, was fixed no problem under warranty.

I blamed the wife for slamming the boot lid too hard

Just had my boot lid tail lights replaced under warranty,
after the job had been done, I noticed a lot of grey dust in the boot area, when I removed the lights to check where the dust was from
I found that the plastic tabs fixed on the mounting points had been ground down with an abrasive disc, also removing paint down to bare metal!

I returned to the dealer and complained about them removing the paint down to metal and that corrosion would set into the boot lid.

They said BMW had advised them to grind down the tabs and that corrosion will not be an issue.
I begged to differ and claimed sloppy workmanship, so they said I had voided my warranty because I have removed the lights myself!

very poor service on a £35k vehicle, you have been warned!

Are things like the reversing bulbs not user serviceable parts? In which case you must be able to remove the inner cluster yourself with voiding your warranty. Besides, they've already admitted to the grinding damage.

WTF!? That's mental, why would removing that void any bloody warranty?! Responses like that make my piss boil!

Slightly off topic I've just noticed the headlight bulb covers on my wifes Paceman have a paint dab acting as a seal on the lock tabs.
