Mudflaps/guards anyone?
I have seen several members on this website posting pics of their F15's with mudflaps. I have an F85 on order and hoping to source mudguards as well. Is anyone able to advise on if BMW do same or where I can source?
Note: dealer at this stage saying not available but I am not giving up yet! I have posted same question in F15 thread as well as yet to see an F85 with guards. |

I've seen them on F15 with M-package, yes, I am not sure if it'll fit F85.
You can see them at this post - http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...ight=mud+flaps Here's the link that Matt posted - http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=82_1605 |

Dr. Waxman, any luck finding flaps for the M? The 21" tires on my X5M are so sticky they hold and fling gravel like crazy. I'm hoping to find some flaps as well to save the paint.

F15 MSport Mudflaps DO work on the X5M
Just in case anyone was wondering, Dr. Waxman was right. The F15 MSport Mudflaps DO fit on the X5M. I bought them online and self-installed them this weekend. It took about 20 minutes per wheel. The fronts were easier because the wheels didn't have to be removed. The back are a little more involved.
I would have loved not to have to install these but the road crews around me have been doing a lot more chip and tar maintenance on the roads, rather then repaving lately. The 21" goodyears are like tar paper and really hang onto small stones. After a few pretty severe chips on the lower sections of the car I figured this was the best bet in addition to paint protection. Overall they don't look horrible and seem to help greatly with flying rocks and road spray. Feel free to ask questions. |

Thanks for your post.
Dealer has mine ready and waiting for install. I have always had mudflaps exactly for the reasons you state and probably why my paintwork is in good nic by time of sale ☺️ |

Not they look fine as they are. Some do paint them as preference however but you are kind of defeating their purpose as you end up with chipped flaps instead!
I believe they beef up the stance of the vehicle even more. Each to their own 😉 |

I'd agree JNoSol. I don't love the plastic but according to the dealer the M paint color (LONG BEACH BLUE) isn't even available yet it's so new.
Dr. Waxman's right, they surprisingly do beef up the stance. Overall, its better then having an M full of chips. |

Here are mine on the X5M '13, it should give an idea how it looks painted.
I have them on the front only, no need on the back. It helps but the lower rockers still get sandblasted in front of the rear arch. |

Those look great Gan23. I may need to pull mine and have them painted when Long Beach Blue eventually becomes available.
How does the pained plastic hold up to the rock chips? Just curious |

The problem is always the rocker panel. Even the film is starting to get bubbled up. Here are some dirty pictures, it's hard to distinguish much but you'll get the idea. |

Are you guys having rock chip or mud issues with yours? After having the the car for a few months, I see no need for mud flaps. If rock chip is an issue, just xPel or 3M the area.
Mud flaps on our cars looks terrible.

if you run these flaps, you get serious cred at truck stops, diners and picking up hookers...
