Sorry another spec help request
Looking to pull the trigger on a 435i GC this week but having a wobble on my spec choice
435i msport auto Carbon black Coral red ??? Don't like the red element on the dash and there are other options i would choose over leather dash so probably end up with black. M Sport plus pack Folding mirrors Here's where I need help Am I right in that to get the dipping mirrors you need eitehr electric seats or the folding mirrors option? I am working to a budget and the above spec comes bang on Thinking of possible swapping the folding mirrors for adaptive lights. Do the adaptive lights enhance gfv? I don't do much driving at night and would probably get more benefit out of having my mirrors tucked in and out of harms way than the odd occasion that adaptive lights would be a benefit. Here's the tricky one though do I swap folding mirrors for adaptive suspension. I have it in my M135 and would tick the box again if I was ordering another M135. Or do I just suck it up and pay another £10 / month for adaptive suspension ( assuming it's not a gfv enhancing option?) Thanks in advance for your help |

For the mirrors just get the folding option - that gives you the dipping function.
Adaptive lights took my monthlies DOWN by 70p. I have adaptive - wouldn't bother again.

My mirror dips and I do't have the electric folding mirrors. You can always fold the wing mirrors manual (i.e. give them a push). I don't often have to park in dodgy areas and when I do, am happy to push the mirrors in. If you have to leave your car in a rough area often then they may be worth it for you.

What a good dilemma to have. This is my observation from my 435i.
Adaptive suspension: i put 20" 624's with RFTs on and have found the ride quite firm. I know the RFTs make the ride more uncomfortable and having 20's doesn't help but the loaner I test drove had adaptive on 19's with RFT's and it was fine. As soon as I've burned the rubber down on these I'll be switching to MPSS. Folding mirrors: got this on mine and I know people say walk around the car to fold them on manually but I find it very handy. One of my must have's on all cars from now on. Adaptive lights: I don't have these and have never considered them seeing as Xenons are already standard and my night driving is limited. I find the Xenon's give good light output anyway and if you've never had a car with them, you won't know what you're missing out on I added interior comfort to mine and the additional lights around the car are great and the extended storage is useful too. But as you're already working to a budget, I hope you've got a good deal? Is it with Riaz or TRL?

The dipping and dimming bit are the most useful - though I often hold the close button for auto fold in. Adaptive lights if you do lots of night driving. Adaptive suspension for the best of both comfort and firm - though the m sport comes with sport suspension if that's you thing. |

I'm expecting to pick up my 435i this week and went for coral red with the black leather dash. Hopefully it's the right choice over the red dash.
Will post some pics when I get it. And I had adaptive on 330d f30 and I didn't want to risk losing some of the driving experience without it.

I was worried about going for Coral Red because of the red dash as well. But to be honest, I really don't mind it. IMO the red interior makes the car feel so much more special than black. Most photographs make the Red seem much more vivid than it really is. its worth trying to find a car to actually check it out in reality.

Thanks for the replies
I think the only reason for me to spec adaptive lights would be if it increases the gfv like on the f30/31's visibility pack and has no effect on monthlies. I have always speced folding mirrors not because I live in a rough area or frequent such places on a regular basis more stems from when I used live in a town and had to park on the street. Have had to replace too many wing mirrors in the past and as I do use street parking on a regular basis it's nice to keep the tucked away, but wa sore pared to perhaps make this sacrifice if adaptive was a good option When I cut adaptive from my spec I had in mind that I could use the saving to put toward getting some ACS springs if needed is this a better route? I don't mind a firm ride and pretty much drive my M135 in sport setting all the time I have seen coral red in a convertible and it did seem quite bright but I think having the roof down didn't help its cause. The seats were nice but the dash didn't work for me might be different if there was less light coming in so will have to try and find a car with a roof on. And yes I am in touch with the boys with the deals |

Adaptive lights with msport + should have neglible impact on your monthlies, as it increases gfv.
Adaptive lights are top of the list for any future BMW. If you don't drive between November and March after 3pm, then yeah can see reason not to have them, however they are excellent. |

I'm sure I saw a post on here where someone said you can suppress the red dash if it wasn't to your liking. Could well be worth checking with your dealer. Silly to make a compromise if there is a way to do without it.

Yes the red dash isn't a total disaster, I'm just not a big fan.
It is a bit strange though, i don't like the seats to be black, but for me the dash has to be black. Last edited by teaston; 05-25-2015 at 04:28 PM.. |

Yes if you order leather dash it is black. It's nice option but it's a £1000
