Oil temp dependent on throttle setting?

Sorry if this topic has been talked about before, if so I've missed it. Normally I drive my car in sport+ and the oil temp usually stabilizes Around 210F, give or take 5-10 degrees after approx 10-15 minutes. Twice now I've tried to switch over to sport, and with normal, non aggressive driving I'm noticing that in my 30 minute commute the temperature both times creeps up past the 220 mark, getting up to around 230 before my commute is over. Similar temperatures of about 60 degrees outside so that doesn't play a factor. Maybe the oil cooler works more aggressively during sport+, but I just wanted to get peace of mind nothing is wrong with my car as it seemed odd. Thanks.

Yes, sport and efficient run slightly warmer than sport+.

BMW has stated they allow the engine to run hotter for better fuel economy when cruising on the freeway. It will lower the temperature in stop and go traffic and city driving. Remember the water pump and cooling fans are electric so the ECU can easily control the engine temperature.

True for the N55, not for the S55.

On the S55, the main coolant pump is belt driven off the crank. Engine temperatures can be managed via the thermostat.

Why would it run hotter in sport and efficient? Why not as hot in sports plus? Is there a performance benefit to keeping it a bit cooler? Or are they anticipating you'll drive harder in sport plus?

A cooler engine will make more power. A hotter engine will burn less fuel.
