Need advice on detailing. (medium story) :)
Hi Guys
Brought in my car to oil change at BMW dealer, the SA recommended a brake flush, and change the wipers, for free. took my car away, and I started to talk to people in the Sales area. I had a very nice chat with a very enthusiastic sales manager, about wheels, brakes, and where to find a 06 competition package m3. Then I asked him about doing a detail on my car. me, "can you hook me up with a detail?" him. "sure. let me talk to my man" me ."how much do you pay?" him. "i get detailed for about 150, in and out...here is your man" detailer. "I can do a perma...(something... I forgot the name. but i know it is a very good protection for the paint) for about 500, but I can do you for 175" me "you kidding me ?" detailer "see man, i worked for 20 years detailing and i am here for 5 years. i detailed all the cars here, no one complained" me "so, you doing it on the low-low?" detailed "yeah, just bring it in really early in the morning. I get stuff from inside. and I detail your car" We then proceed to my car, he saw the "swirl marks", which he said were "spider marks", he said regular washing "fucked it up" meaning the paint. He then jacked up the price to 200 because he "need to bring on the tools" In and out, perma...something for $200, on the lowlow. I still think $200 is not that expensive. He is black, about 45 years young, rolls in a black modded cadillac, with 20in wheels. What do you guys think? Is he legit? |

Too legit to quit!! Hammertime....Yeah the price he is charging is awesome considering if you actually purchased the work or from the dealer it would cost 500...So yeah he is making 200 dollars using BMW's stuff and your saving 300 bucks...Both parties wins...

That perma crap is BS nothing will last on your car more than a couple months. For 200 or a little more you can hirt a compitant detailer, not some guy selling crap at the dealer. Dealers are well known for messing up paint, I doubt this guy is an exception, especially since hes only charging you 50 more to remove the swirls, its obviously going to be a hack job.

I don't see how his race comes into this? but did you at least inspect his caddy or the sales managers vehicles? I mean better to see his work under proper lighting and judge for yourself
