This looks like one of the worst cases, out of the ones you've posted at least. Nice work as always

I've been hobby detailing for 6 years now, and owned a jet black e46M3 for 3 years. All I can say is that your work is incredible!

you are seriously a genious man, no joke. Can you PM me a price to detail my girlfriends 2002 eclipse, it is in similar condition as this 330, but has bad waterspots on the windows and one side of the car. The car is dark silver color.
Thanks!

Great work.

FMINUS,
you list 3 different grades of clay in your list above. How do you choose what grade to use? I mean, do you start off with a fine grade and work your way up until you get the results you want? Or do you sort of spot treat? If so, wouldn't spot treating just delay your process? How is the finish like after using the heavy grade bar, in respect to the amount of marring left after use?

I ask this because although although the mild and heavy grade bars cut through the surface contamination a lot quicker, I cannot help but be left with a lot of marring.

Have you tried deco kits? I've been using my old FK1 Deco kit from a few years back and following it with a fine grade bar (deco kits don't remove eveything), and have been having some good results without the excess marring. This helps alot on those quick jobs (Wash, clay, wax). Although I don't think you do too much of those that probably aren't maintenance and don't warrant such work.

Heres how I decide on what clays to use. I always start with the softest one. Generally the Riccardo, if that doesnt cut it I move to green, then to blue. Seldom I have to use grey or purple.

I also take into account how deep the swirls are. If they are very light, I will NOT use a heavy clay bar. But if they are deep, the marring left by the clay bar will be removed in the process of removing the swirls that came with the car. Also if you take your time and make sure there is enough lube, you will not end up with heavy marring

Generally with a light scope you can guess how many microns will need to be removed.

The best decon kit is the one made from Auto Int. FK is nowhere as effective as the ABC system.

You're right, I normally send the owner home with a "car care kit" and give them a little spiel on how to maintain their car until their next visit. (Generally around every quarter) I dont find wash and waxes fun, and since its a hobby I try to avoid those. And honestly I dont like doing the same cars over and over again, but I get caught up with owners of the cars; and THAT I think is the best thing about this hobby is meeting awesome people. So sometimes I end up doing some wash and waxes
