Hi,

Can anybody help identify the Icon shown below?
It wasn't there when I picked the car up, but not sure when it appeared!
It's not shown in the manual

Simon wasn't joking. Means the GPS tracking is active, in that you can remote locate your car from the connected drive app

Settings > deselect GPS tracking

No problems unless you live in the States, then apparently according to their National Report news site, it is responsible for a number of Alien Abductions.

So count yourself lucky, in this country it's just the odd car jacking, over there it's ET all tooled up doing the car jacking and abduction

I have mine activated. More for novelty value,....... I guess it depends on whether the wife/gf/mistress shows a keen interest in where you go as to whether you feel safe activating it

I would like this but haven't got it on mine.

I noticed this on a 2015 730d SE I drove for 200 miles two weeks ago so must be newish.

Don't give any of them your password

Tbh. Can't see why it can't be locked on/off from your online acct/phone to allow you to track your own car. Any thief nicking it atm just has to turn it off in car & it's gone

Although I wasn't registered at the time, you guys were a great sauce of knowledge when the 335d was launched!

Still impressed with it!! With my economy hat well and truly on, I can get 50mpg. Then when I take the hat off, it really is a quick car. A very good all rounder!!

All I need to do know is review my choice of radio stations!!

Is there a way to activate it in older models? The Gps is always on any way. Can you download and install the update via USB?

Mine still doesn't have this, it's NBT week 10 2014 build so relatively recent.

I also don't know if the security OTA update has worked properly - any way to check this?

You need to go into vehicle settings and turn it on....
