Cooling fans running too long after stop?

After i stop the car, even though i drove it for 5 mins under 3000rpm, and i stop the car, the cooling fans still run for about 2 mins. Is this normal?

My X5 M does the same thing on short trips. If I've pushed it really hard for a decent trip, the fans run a good 10-15 minutes after I shut it off.

Normal, hot days and getting on her will leave the fans on quite long

Pretty normal which is a good thing. The same thing happens on my F15 so it is natural that the M versions of the F15 and F16 does it.
