The funny part is that only car people would know the difference between what the M2 badge means and what the M235i badge means, yet it is precisely the same people that immediately know you're full of shit. So the uneducated are oblivious and the knowledgable are disgusted.

Since there is no M2 (yet), I see this more as a joke – despite the fact that I really dislike fake badges on cars.
Back in the day, pretty much every 316i (mostly E36s, with drum brakes on the rear) in my area had M3 logos plastered all over them. In fact, you still see it today from time to time, although it has gotten noticably better. There are also one or two real M3s in the area that are running around with 316i badges. |
