Pic Request: DG X5M with M Performance Kidney Grills
Hey everyone -
Title pretty much sums it up. Although I usually HATE chrome accents on my cars, the stock kidney grills have grown on me. Maybe because of the silver/chrome in headlights. Maybe because relatively light colored car. Maybe because every 'enthusiast's' first move is to change the kidney grills and I wanted something a little different. At the same time, I can't help but wonder what the M Performance Gloss Black kidneys would look like. Although I have a set, having my wife hold them while I try to get a sense of what they would look like installed doesn't work so great. So, anyone with a DG X5M and the Gloss Black M Performance kidneys installed mind posting some pics to give me a better sense of what they look like? It would be much appreciated. A. |

Thanks! I, too, have been looking for photos like these. I'm leaning towards keeping the stock kidney grills, and just switching the side gills on my donington grey X5 M.

i get a smile on my face every time I look at it, nevermind how I love driving it. After coveting an M for almost 20 years (used to want M3 convertible) it doesn't disappoint in the slightest. Even when I'm stuck in traffic, it is so nice inside that it mellows me out.
I have little doubt that you will end up with one sooner than later. Just think of it this way, I was in a rental and needed it more Plus I got a little road trip vacation down the coast with the wife -- and broke in the engine correctly vs 1200 miles of LA driving Again, thanks for being cool enough to list it here PS. Both Adam and Karl were great to work with; true enthusiasts which was also great |

Those pics make me realize that I need to change out the front reflectors asap. Looks way cleaner with the painted reflectors. What I don't get is why they changed the kidney grills but left the chrome sides.
I am torn on the kidneys. Glad to see I'm not only person who thinks stock ones look pretty good with DG. Pretty certain I'd change them with any other color (other than SS maybe) |
