I know exactly what my M235i weighs

I had it aligned and corner balanced today by Minicorsa in NOHO.

Sorry for the horrifically bad camera phone shot of the scale.

It reads:
LF 887 RF 906
LR 792 RR 809

Total weight with a quarter tank of gas was 3394. Corner balance was done with me inside the car. I weighed my wheels and tires separately (no stems or center caps or wheel bolts) ...tires are 24 lbs each and the wheels are 18.18 lbs each.

I didn't weigh my new coil overs but they no doubt weigh less than the stock struts with EDC.

I'm looking forward to getting back out to the track to try it out!

nice! I weighed my 228 6speed on a scale and I've been curious what a 235 actually weighs. Mine was 3260lbs with a quarter tank of gas. Only a difference of 134lbs. Perhaps a little smaller than I was expecting but then again you have the manual too. An auto 235 would be an extra.. 80lbs?

What options do you have?

Jesus, that is crazy. Although I am sure the APEX ARC-8's helped you out.

I wonder where BMW gets this 3505 lb figure for a manual M235i? I mean, I have sunroof in mine, but I can't believe it weighs 100 lbs. Maybe 40?

Add about 60 pounds for another 10 gallons of fuel.
Add 23 pounds for the stock wheels.
That makes ~3477 pounds total for a slick top.
That suggests the moonroof comes in at about 30 pounds.
The auto weighs 30 pounds more yet, so 60 pounds is what you save with moonroof delete and manual transmission. That sounds about right. Interesting to know.

Maybe the 3505 figure is with a full tank of gas? I only had a 1/4 tank when we weighed my car today.

I forgot to mention my exhaust. I have a Remus cat back system that is probably a little lighter than the stock system. Maybe 10-15 lbs?

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by the weight as I fully expected 3500ish pounds based on my options and what I've read on-line and in magazines.

Edit: just saw Supernaut's post. I think he's spot on.
