tracking a leased car

as implied in my title who has experience first or second hand with tracking a leased car. any special considerations? has anyone found this to work great? I've never leased but at the rate I go through cars it's probably not a terrible idea if it is significantly cheaper

I lease my cars as it has been by business for the last 32 years.I treat like I owned them and intended to keep them for a long time.Everytime that I sold one of my tracked vehicles I have never had an issue telling them.I always tell the client that it has been tracked and that has never been an issue due to the condition and the extra service attention that the car has received in its lifetime with me.

just do it. I'm pretty sure 90% of M3 owners at the track are leased.

thanks!

I guess I assumed leases had a no-tracking agreement in there and a risky move to disobey it. I'll have to take a look.

thanks!

I really intend to keep cars for a while but I haven't kept any of my last 6 cars any longer than 12-1months... a lease may encourage me to keep it longer but who knows ... I really would like to keep the m3 long term.. it would be a great all-rounder to pay off and keep in the stable but we'll see.

I usually sell my cars with some warranty left so yes they are dealer services.Brake fluid changes I usually take care of myself but I have the extra oil services done at the dealer so they are documented if I ever have a questionable warranty claim.

No problem. Warm it up/drive it hard

My E90 328 had 83 miles when I took it to sears point and my E89 Z435 280 miles when I took it to willow springs

Both cars used zero oil after the break in period and ran strong and trouble free throughout the 36 month lease

EDIT: based on the lease return form, something that is specifically excluded is use for commercial purposes, so maybe don't use a leased car to instruct at track days

good info guys, thanks a lot! I'll have to see what the numbers are like.. financing has just felt better to me in the past because I have more freedom but I think I'll explore leasing this time around. also need to see if I'm going to stick with DCT or get manual! the tough decisions in life .. :

lease if you can write it off in any way, leasing also you are very stuck for the lease term because BMW has such crazy residual value in the lease that you could never sell the car for what you owe. they also tend to do 6 month pull head forgiveness on the lease terms so you can get into 30 months easily

DCT shifts in almost 50% less distance than a manual 997 GT3 at 100mph. The manual is more fun though, wish I had it.

Yeah, lease doesn't matter.
