My take.
I am having some issues being resolved with my RS so took my completely stock M3 to the Pacific Raceways for a PCA day yesterday. Lots of 991 GT3s, a heavily modified GT2 on slicks, and an assortment of other nice cars in the advanced group. I am totally stock and I have to say that this car amazes me. Turned off all nannies as you have to with this car, but very little drama and so much fun! It is like luxury tracking. The car is comfortable to and from the track and more than competent on track. I think I was passed twice all day. What really surprised me was that my times were less than 2 seconds off my times in the RS a week ago. And I have been tracking the RS exclusively for 2 years and it is well set up. Also beat my best time in my erstwhile heavily modified e92 M3 with BBK, suspension, exhaust and NT01s.
I am seriously considering tracking this car more and saving the wear and tear on the RS as I will probably keep the RS long term. Need to figure out how to get wheels that will take a 305 NT01s on the rear and 275s on the front. Then brake pads and a CG lock for the belt and I am good to go.

How do you like the NT01s?
I'm looking at running NT01, NT05 and R888s daily.

that's solid!
How do you think the M3 will do if you put similar tires as your RS? by the way, I've been trying to get my hands on a GT4 allocation, and when I run into posts like yours it makes me pause and think I might be better off taking a pass on the GT4 (if the pace isn't that much greater, since the cost is certainly greater than my m3) Any thoughts on what the pace of the GT4 will look like compared to your RS and M3? |

I got a lead on an allocation from another forum member. Not sure if it will work out since i dont have a pre existing relationship with Porsche.
Turbo cayman is a very interesting idea. How has it held up at the track? Is it a 987.2 s pdk? |

My brother's car is a 2008 Cayman S with extensive work done. I would get the GT4 if you can as it is going to maintain value very well. One of my friends got on a list at the local Porsche dealer. He was #6. Called two weeks later and he was #9 because priority customers leapfrogged him. Good luck!

As I have previously stated the F8X is a fantastic chassis and will beat most cars and blow away any previous gen M3's including E90's. These are track beasts in disguise. Love the car.
