It's a personal choice, surely - not public opinion?
Personally, I have anthracite on mine, although do like hyper-silver. |

Given the 3 options on the manufacturer's website of silver, black with machined face or matt black all over, I'd definitely go with silver.
Black with diamond cut face look nice, but will go to shit quickly IMO - as many diamond cut finishes seem to with a long dose of winter roads. Matt black will just look small with a black car and get lost in the wheel arch. Silver, all day long if it were my car and my choice. |

Id say one shade back from black, i.e. gunmetal/anthracite/etc, as black will make your tyres look dirty and lose any definition on the wheels.
Alternatively it depends what look you are going for. Gold/white/lime green/orange are all viable options too. |

Gunmetal/ Antracite is always a safe bet. more aggressive look than silver but not ott like black. I had a light shade gunmetal on my previous e90 and it looked great although if you are going for a dark shade gunmetal i think gloss black looks better .

Yeah you can, but not really what you want to be doing when you're shelling out for a brand new set of wheels and tyres - that's something to be debated when it's refurb time.

I like the classy OEM look. Silver wheels on a dark coloured car look great.
I have hyper silver ispiri isr10 wheels on my sparkling graphite car. I was also debating if i should get gunmetal or black, but glad i chose silver. Finally Russ something we agree on |

I've got these and they looked great for a year, then came the oxidisation.
Also be aware that the lip is a piece of metal rolled over the edge of the wheel, if you curb the wheel they won't supply a new lip so you have to buy a new wheel or paint the lip. |

Black on black looks good but you do risk loosing the detail of the alloy. If your going for a fairly simple 5 or 6 spoke alloy say something like the 199 stars that may not matter so much but if your spending a fair bit on the alloys with a decent design to the them the detail can get lost with all the black ... you need something to pull out the detail of the alloy whether that's a different colour with the black or a different colour alloy
