Used Menzerna Ceramic Clear Coat Polish, need something a bit stronger. But what?
As the title says, I got some annoying scratches from the paintless dent repair guy when he removed a softball dent from my hood....don't ask, I was pissed.
check out that orange peel in the reflection of my garage door....thanks BMW (pic is of before the repair) Judging by the way the guy scratched my hood I have no intention of asking him to repair it, he did however get rid of the dent perfectly. I had the ceramic clear coat polish, which I love by the way . see here: http://www.detailedimage.com/Menzern...at-Polish-P75/ Using a white then orange pad I got rid of most of the light scratches but there are plenty of deeper ones that still in the clear coat. I dont have any stronger polishes in my arsenal as I have not needed them. What should I try? I'll follow it w/ the ceramic polish and then a glaze, sealant, wax.

step up to SIP if that doesnt work then PG, then wetsand. But from what you have described, SIP should work.
Make sure you finish w a white pad when using FF |

SIP = ? FF = ? wetsanding won't be necessary here, but will be when I repair a few rock chips and possibly when I tackle the bird drop etchings on the trunk

SIP = Super Intensive Polish
FF = PO106FF. FMINUS was saying that you should be finishing with the softer pad, the white one, instead of the more aggressive orange pad. I agree with FMINUS, if Super Intensive Polish doesn't do the trick, try the more aggressive Power Gloss. Can't go wrong with the Menzerna line of polishes. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask. George |

I find that hard to believe with the soft jet blacks. I've used it on my car and experienced marring even with a white pad(however it was about 35 degrees in my garage at the time), but the polish was at room temp and I had to finish off with a black/gray LC pad to get it perfect. I remember you said that you believe you still have the old jet black so that might be part of the reason, the older bmw paints were much harder.

if you don't believe me... and im not talking about my car, im saying that my 1-step polish package is with 106 and orange pad, like in the link i posted above. if you use a PC and No pressure on the final pass it finishes just fine. but i usually still finish with a white pad, just for my 1-step i use an orange. |
