Dinan Sway Bar Set (RWD Only)
Lightweight Tubular Adjustable Anti-Roll Bar Set For the F3x 3 and 4 Series (RWD Only) Part Number: D120-0585 Applications: F30 320i, F30 328i, F30 335i, F32 428i, F32 435i, F33 428i, F33 435i, F36 428i, and F36 435i (RWD ONLY) Product Page / Pricing: http://www.dinancars.com/product/d12...ries&mid=1195/ Release: Date: Expect to begin shipping June 26th, 2015. Description: Almost all street cars come from the manufacturer with an anti-roll bar as it is a common part of modern suspension systems. However they are designed to be overly soft for maximum comfort. An anti-roll bar does exactly what it says by reducing body roll in all situations. Every Dinan tuned anti-roll bar is built and tuned specifically for each BMW chassis. Lowering the amount of body roll keeps your BMW more level than stock (while still allowing just enough body roll) to improve mechanical grip. This improvement gives the driver a much more planted and confident feeling in every corner. Front Anti-Roll Bar Add a 28mm Lightweight Tubular Adjustable Front Anti-Roll Bar to reduce body roll, improve grip and stability while saving weight at the same time. This anti-roll bar is adjustable up to 45% to 97% stiffer than the stock bar*. This 3 hole bar can be mounted in 3 different positions with stock BMW end links.
Includes: Lightweight Tubular Adjustable Front Anti-Roll Bar, Urethane Bushings, Heavy Duty Brackets w/ Grease Fittings. Rear Anti-Roll Bar Add a 19mm Lightweight Tubular Adjustable Rear Anti-Roll Bar to reduce body roll, improve grip and stability while saving weight at the same time. This anti-roll bar is adjustable up to 84% to 474% stiffer than the stock bar*. This 3 hole bar can be mounted in 3 different positions with stock BMW end links.
Includes: Lightweight Tubular Adjustable Rear Anti-Roll Bar, Urethane Bushings, Heavy Duty Brackets w/ Grease Fittings. |

$800 for parts and, if you have a Dinan authorized dealer install, Dinan quotes 9.5 hrs of labor- OUCH!
Wonder if the front bar is as much of a bitch to remove/install as the 08 335i? Real PITA. |

9.5 Dinan hours. Since the spring install is 8 Dinan hours and actually takes a mechanic about 3, I'm guessing the actual install is about 4-5

Hell I already put HAR on mine a few months back. Yes the rear is a major PIA to install. I was going to do it at home and after getting under her and seeing what it was going to take I just paid my dealer to do it.

Sorry about the delayed responses everyone. Was out for a few days and just got back in the office today.
Engineering is basically shut down today so I do not have an official response in regards to if we will be offering the bars separately or only as a kit. In general though the bars in our kits are meant to be used together so use of only one of the bars in isolation will most likely result in undesired and untested handling characteristics that could present a safety hazard. If they are to be offered as individual bars I am sure there will be a disclaimer to that effect. I will report back early next week once I find out the official position. Quote:
They may work but we have never tested them on a diesel vehicle so your guess is as good as ours. Hopefully the diesel development program will get off the ground here shortly, at least that is the ever present desire of the sales and marketing side of the building. Any plans to have a DIY video about installation? At least about the front one? There is some stuff out there about the rear already, which I assume is the more complex one as the subframe and exhaust need to be lowered for installation. I assume the front one is much more accessible and simpler to install, but even the rear one (once you understand what to do) is straightforward, but a DIY video or installation manual helps a lot, especially if it holds the torque specs too.

I have received my Dinan Sway Bar Set and the installation manual is quite clear and don't see any issue doing it myself in a DIY garage with a proper lift and all the tools (inc. transmission jack) available, except one thing, that is how to support the engine with an engine mount. That concerns me quite a bit and there is not much info out there about where the lift point is of the N55 engine in the F30 chassis and how to do the whole thing of supporting the engine. Not even sure I would entrust any shop doing it for me without knowing myself where the lift point is and what the whole procedure is and making sure they are aware of all the details too.
Can someone (preferably Dinan) provide info on where and how to accurately support the N55 engine in the F30 chassis? |

At a professional shop they can could use a pole jack to support the motor under the oil pan although it is not the "proper and approved" way of doing so. |

Thanks, appreciate the help, I have access to one of those mounting frames. Do you have a picture where that threaded mounting point is? Any spec about the threaded tow hook would be helpful too. (I have a strut brace so could not quickly take the engine cover off and look for the mount hole myself. Not sure that I would have found it anyhow.) Would the tow hook that you screw into the front bumper work?
