Owners of M235i that don't have a garage
How do you currently or plan to keep the car clean? I don't think it's feasible to try to wash it every other day.
I'm thinking about buying a car cover but it'll be a hassle when I want to drive it, having to remove it and then put it back on. Or should I not care and just wash it once a week? |

My routine has always been to uses a car cover for sun protection ( always when I can keep an eye on it ) and try to hand wash weekly or bi-weekly - except when waxing body or detailing wheels can do a good hand wash in thirty-minutes.
Never garage. |

If you think of cover? then realize when its wet after a rainy night you have to find a place to put it that morning, so it can at least dry out. Carrying one of those things around wet and dirty is small pain.
And if your dressed well for the workplace, those clothes can be hamper-somed. [zkeeper's dictionary, 1st Ed.]. Putting it into the boot wet is a no-no, as well as a duty dirty one. Best keep it well waxed, bird-doo free, and gently, ever so gently washed properly on regular basis. Save the cover for an extended trip away perhaps when the car needs protection while gone. IMHO |

This. At all times I keep a small spray bottle of clay lube / speed shine type product, cut 50/50 with distilled water, in the trunk and a few MF towels. Keep bug and bird gunk off of the paint in between cleanings and it makes life so much easier!

I use a car cover during the day, the one time it got wet used an ABSORBER towel to dry it - when still a little damp, rolled it up and placed in garbage bag. Next day unfolded it and placed it on car to fully dry.

It does take a little bit more effort to keep up on a car sitting outside but it isn't that much more, just make sure that paint is protected and also be aware of where you park (if you only have street parking available). Parking near (not under) a well placed tree can save you a few hours of having the car sit under the sun all day.

I keep a detailing kit in all my cars. I find a small shaving kit bag is perfect to hold sample sizes of all your favorite detailing supplies. Just keep it in the trunk. Don't leave home without it!

Lol, nice! I keep a shaving kit bag in the trunk with a small spray bottle of quick lube (QD chemical guys) and V07 nano wax, with MF towels for cleaning.
