cabin clicking noise
My M235 is about 1 month old, with about 800 miles on it. Recently, I hear in the cabin a kind of a clicking/creaking sound when I'm driving, usually when I hit small bump in the road or pothole. I would be very surprised if it was something mechanical. It sounds more like the glove compartment latch, a door panel, or something. But I keep trying to trouble shoot while driving, with no success. I plan to have my wife drive with me in the back seat to try to locate it. Anyone have any thoughts on what it might be or where I should focus my efforts?

Could be an obvious solution, but did you check to see if anything is sliding around in the glovebox itself? I noticed a noise around there too and realized it was something I had put in there before sliding around. Simple checks first!

Very interesting, I took delivery of my M235 last month and I also hear those "clicks" in my case I think they come from the windshield that expands with the heat or from the tweeters since the click or sound have a kind of electronic sound...it almost sound like an electric spark or something like that...

I've had something similar. I think something in my passenger door is rattling. Sounds like the window assembly. Doesn't always rattle but I wish it wouldn't ever. Also the plastic cover around the 3rd tail light at the top of the rear window creaks. That one I've verified.

I have a dull "pop" sound that happens as I pull a cool car into the sun in the morning. It comes from the roof/sunroof area. I usually get one or two pops and then it's done for the day. Wierd.
My most irritating noise is a double-thud I get every time I close the door with the window up. It is much more prominent on the drivers side. Naturally.

Make sure the fold-down rear seats are fully latched? And if they are, perhaps the latches need some lube? This happened to my GLK350. Lube cured the problem.

I noticed it too! It's either coming from the glovebox latch or the passenger side area too...please somebody figure it out it's so annoying. Not cool.

That sound is the front strut mounts, have a dealer check them out, I've had them replaced twice on my M235i already. The noise is very easy to produce when the car is on the lift and by turning the wheel

well. i drove around with my wife trying to track down the sound. we are fairly confident that it's something with the front passenger seat. groping around under it, i noticed there's a lot of plastic. something is making a clicking noise. funny thing is, it seems to come from various sources in or under the seat. i emailed the dealer and he told me to bring it in. i'll probably do that in the near future. but we've had some very hot days this week in DC, so i'm kind of hoping it just fixes itself. in the mean time, my plan is to crank up the music and keep the engine loud.

I'm not alone! I've had this sound for quite awhile now. It's like a sharp pop coming from what sounds like the rear of the car. It typically happens when the suspension is flexing over certain types of bumps. I figure I'll mention it when the car goes in for an oil change.

I complained to the dealer when the car was there last for an oil change, but they said they couldn't reproduce it.
