Headroom issue

Hey guys, had my first track day today in the M235i. I'm having some real headroom issues with a helmet on in this car. I have the seat all the way down (at least I think I do), and going further back/forward and reclining more/less didn't really seem to help much. I'm 6'1" and my car has the moonroof. I had to hunch over a bit and my helmet was still touching the whole time which was not comfortable at all.

I'm wondering if anybody has suggestions. I'm thinking about buying a helmet (I was using one from the track) and was curious if maybe they make helmets that are thinner than others.

Besides the helmet issue, the car was a blast around the track! Much more nimble than my E90 335i.

Do you have a sunroof, unfortunately that eats up space. My issue is more the headrest, thinking about getting the foam reformed to better fit a helmet

Do you keep the sunroof shade open?
Are open face helmets shallower then full face helmets?
Then you have to play with extending steering wheel out fully, moving seat bottom back to where your knees don't lock out on brake or clutch depression, and seat back incline to where you have full grip during steering crossover.
That's really all you can do.

I actually found that my open face helmet was taller than my new full face helmet. I'm 6' and JUST barely fit, my old helmet would rub a little but not enough to be uncomfortable. Unfortunately they didn't offer the moonroof delete option until after I ordered my car, otherwise, I would have opted out of it to get the extra headroom (and less weight).

Power seats are stock? That combined with a moonroof is a killer.

Yeah, I have the moonroof and am about 6 feet. Fits okay -- if I were any taller it would be an issue.

Note to self - in future, get sunroof delete.
