E90 lci taillights

Does everyone's e90 lci taillights come on when the boot is opened? Drl is on and when boots closed no taillights, soon as I open boot when car is running rear tail lights come on, is this normal ?

When my drl's are on, my taillights are always on albeit dimmed compared to when main beam lights come on.
