Feel for ya my friend :-) I have two people next to me, Lucky for me one of them knows how to park properly so somewhat i have an silence agreement with that dude he parks his car front first i back my car in to my parking slot and we have only a couple of cm between each other and we never have that problem. Like you and the red car, But imagine the red car parking front first so he can get out on the other side.
But the person on my other side just like the french car for you, That person is an complete idiot, The owner of the car have no clue how to park he parks diagonally across hes parking space sometimes doesn't even drive it in all the way, A total nut job So i put up a dash cam in my car on the driver side window, And exactly as i predicted the guy opened his door without even thinking twice smacking my side, So i caught up with the guy told him hes going to pay for the damage he insisted he din't do it so i showed him the cam video, Then he confessed, He paid for repairing the damage to my car. And agreed to Switch his parking spot as soon as he get the chance with another person. But for now hes been parking like Schumacher ever sens :-) Seen him several times on the parking lot go in and out of his parking spot until he parks 100% perfectly kinda funny laughing a bit inside ever sens i confronted the dude |

It's a shame but it's just something no one can ever avoid, unless you have individual garage.
Even then every shopping mall you go to, every street parking there's a chance someone will hit your car... I've learnt there's no point worrying

Thats the camera i used for the event, COWON Auto Capsule AW1 16GB Wi-Fi
i set it up so it was filming from the inside of the car to his side of the car hidden away, Because of the fish eye lens the camera captured everything, His Face, His Door hitting mine, Him Inspecting the damage to this car and mine and trying to rub off the damage from mine car. All in 1024x720p so it was very detailed including audio of him screaming "Damn" in Swedish. And saying "Ill just say i dint do it if he asks", So yeah he was really caught in the act it only reacted when his car was trying to park then the camera woke up and started filming. Well the rest you know :-) The Camera will always record and tape over it self until you remove it and copy over the video to your computer from the memory unit. |

I feel for you Jet_00 ! But maybe, in the interests of international harmony, you should point out that the French shitbox is in fact registered in Switzerland, albeit in a French-speaking canton admittedly, so the driver is probably not French, even if the car is of French manufacture.
This sort of thing is indeed a problem. I used to park my perfect condition bright yellow Caterham Super 7 in the office carpark next to the boss' shitbox blue BMW series 3 (old style horrible boxy type from about 1980 and, funnily enough, registered in Vaud, the same canton as your French green shitbox neighbour !) and I ended up getting blue marks where his door opened onto my car. I confronted him about it and he just laughed it off, saying it wasn't him. Even though the marks lined up perectly with his door and were exactly the same colour, what could I do ? I bought him some rubber bits which you put on the edge of your door to protect other cars when you open it. But that requires a certain amount of diplomacy, I must admit.

Obviously, a dash cam will not prevent door dings or any other parking damage. Video of the incident might tell you who did the dastardly deed, but then you will still have to find them and confront them. No guarantee they'll pay up. Either way, you still have to get your car fixed. I think prevention is the better solution. Temporary bumper guards on your car? Safer places to park? I spent the last 21 years of my career at a large university that had multiple parking lots spread all over the campus. Over time, I located some primo parking spaces that virtually guaranteed no door dings. I parked my 2004 Mazda RX-8 in those spots and during the 10 years I had the car, not one door ding. Yes, I sometimes had a long walk to the office, but that was good for both me and the car.

Lukas LK-7200 dashcam hardwired to an always-on source, with motion detection and impact turned on.
The camera keeps the image chip live and has a 5 second buffer. If something moves into the field of view or if there is an impact above a settable point, it stores the buffered prior 5 seconds of video and the next 30 seconds on an SD memory card. It camera continually monitors the battery voltage, and will turn off when it hits a preset low point, in order to keep from running the battery flat. A 64GB memory card will hold about 8 hours of video, enough for plenty of coverage in a parking garage.

I'm very protective of my car and park as far away as possible or on corner spaces, usually I look for both. Since that appears to be a private parking space at a garage you can buy yourself an orange cone or three and place them on your side of the dividing line. Your neighbor will treat that as a physical division. I've also seen a set of cones chained together, you can put a thick rubber cover on the chain so when your neighbor opens his door that's what hits. Haven't tried this but seems diplomatic enough.

You have parked so far over, how is the driver in the red car going to get out of his car?

Jet says the red car never moves, so is probably parked long term, hence parking very close to give the green car a wider berth.
