2013 328i Xdrive Bilstein B14

Hi guys,

After many weeks of research, I have pulled the trigger on the Bilstein B14.
Part # 47-207233

Was looking at:
BC coilovers : (adjustable dampener)
Bilstein B8 and Drop spring combo
KW V1
ST
K Sport

I am currently running 19' TSW Mirabeaus
19x8 in front 235/35r19
19.9.5 in rear 265/30/19

Wheels were purchased off my Older brother. He had a 335 xdrive coupe but upgraded to 2015 535 and needed big boy wheels.

Anywho, below are photos of the current ride, I will follow up with any issues with install and follow up with ride comfortableness and performance changes.

I currently am running what they call the poor mans suspension. Non M Sport line.

This is my first performance mod besides my headlights. Thanks for looking!

Hi guys been busy! Had them installed Monday and must say, handling wise, it's night and day difference! A little stiff but I'll get used to it. Been hearing some clunking when hitting bumps so I might have to take it back to the technician.

Pictures below.

Ok, linkage was loose but tightened down n now there are no clunking or rattling noise. Took her for an aggressive drive n boy does this thing stick to the road. The set dampness has grown on me so I don't really notice it anymore unless it's a big dip. Drops sits perfectly as you can see in the photos. Best bang for the buck. Will continue to test drive n let ya'll know.

Could you tell me why you choose B14 over V1 and BC?

I'm thinking doing the coils on my f32 also.

Hi Dan, my budget left me with only a few options.

Bc (Taiwan) fully adjustable
Bilstein (German) height adjustable
St (pretty much Kwv1)
Ksport

I went with Bilstein because of the quality of product. It has been tested, shock n dampener set for the cars weight too.

From my understanding, bc shock/weight ratio is a universal build. Does allow you to go low n also adjust dampen. I wish I had the link to reference. Good luck

How has your experience been with the B14's after so many years? Are you still using them?

Curious as well. I'm looking at CO's for our 2014 328i XDrive sitting at 81k on original suspension. Looking for something closer to stock in Winter, maybe 0.5" lower, but ability to go around 0.5" lower than that in Summer (for a full 1" drop or so, maybe 1.2" once I see it fitted). Would be fun to go lower for grins and giggles, but it won't be practical for me. And, want to keep the XDrive geometry in mind, and keep it close to stock. Seems like CO's are the way to go, since they aren't much more than struts/shocks/springs for a full refresh. Seems a lot of brands are out of stock with longer waits, sign of the times. ST's also likely out for me due to Winter/salt conditions here. Bilsteins are one of the value based products that seem to be readily available. Let me know if anyone has advice in this climate? Been watching videos and may do the install on my own using jack stands, or I may pay a local indy shop, if the quoted labor costs make it not worth my time, or if there is a warranty incentive to do it with the shop.
