Powder coating Front calipers?

For those that have already done the front caliper powder coat, did you have to disassemble the Pistons as well? Since it gets baked at 375*..

I really don't want to dish out $2000 for the MP brakes since the 340mm Stockers are very good. I'm going to just get the rears and powder coat to match since the rear stocks are 2 pice float and look like garbage:

Why not just use the caliper paint sold in auto zone. The end result is actually the same as factory, I've done it before.

I could do that, but I did it on a car and the final product is never as best looking and it still chips and flakes no matter what. Powder coat is the way to go for a factory finish.

I want to get M perf rears. And powder coat the front to match. I'll post along as I get done.

I'm running these on my car. While the braking power is amazing with these covers, they're a little touchy. If you dont race your car you probably should save the $40.

Absolutely not. To each his own but I already have brembos up front all they need is a coat of vibrant color. Not putting covers on them.

Plus those covers retain massive heat and affects braking performance.

Dude, are you kidding me? I bet you $1000 my car with these brembo covers will out brake your "Brembos". Yea, they definitely affect brake performance! Car stops better than a Bugatti now!

Anyhow, I had some caliper painted a few years ago and the shop that did the powder coating handled all the disassembly and assembly. If there are too many miles on the car you might need a rebuild kit

Just got back from vacation, got my down pipe on now waiting on the JB4 that's the next mod, it's a slower process because the car is gonna have some down time.

I decided to go re paint route because disassembling the calipers completely is not something I wanna really Peruse.

Use the brush on kit not the spray on; results are much better.

If you do go forward with painting, I suggest you use a brush on kit rather than a spray on.
