F30 12 Volt

If I have something plugged into the 12 volt in front, will it always be on? Seems that way. If that's the case, is there a way to disable this? Maybe coding?

Reason I ask is because I like to leave a USB charger plugged in for convenience. I know there's a USB that I can charge through in the center armrest, but I have a USB stick plugged in there for music.

It'll turn off on it's own after 5 minutes or so.
