228 xdrive convertible with Msport package
I am new to this forum, and I have never owned a BMW before -- so please excuse my newbie questions. I'm hoping to place an order soon. I was wondering if you could help me with a couple questions that I have.
1. Will getting xdrive with Msport delete the "M sport suspension" (option code 704)? This is the way it appears in the 2016 ordering guide. What suspension would the car have? 2. It looks like there is the option to get the 18" alloy ferric grey 461M wheel with the Pilot Super Sport tires for no extra charge. Any advice on this wheel/tire combo vs. the all season tires or mixed summer tires? 3. Will ordering the track handling package provide a huge difference? Thanks for any guidance/advice! |

1 - The M sport will add the M sport suspension, vs the base suspension.
2 - The standard all season run flats are absolute shit. Get the PSS and if you live in a snowy area invest in a dedicated set of winter tires. 3 - This is a matter of perspective. The adaptive dampers will give you the ability to have a softer or firmer suspension setup, you'll get the larger painted calipers, and the VSS. Individually you can probably live without all of those things, but it is not a bad option (this will also give you the dark Ferric gray wheels vs the standard silver 461's that come with the MSport 228). If you aren't driving your car super hard you could live without the track package, but I personally love having the adaptive dampers - it makes the ride much more pleasant when I want to cruise and sharper when I want to thrash the car around.

I have M Sport Om my new convertible and it's fine. I only use the convertible as a weekend or holiday. If I lived were you do I would own a Jeep Wrangler for winter and the convertible for summer maybe as your summer is so short I would properly run a soft top jeep.
We don't have any comfort issues with sport suspension it seems to be softer ride than my 1 series m sport Last edited by Kiwi; 07-18-2015 at 06:37 PM.. |
