What is it worth to you?
Are you asking How much the option is priced at?
Assuming it is a 2015, the MSRP is $3k. Since its AWD, the M-sport doesn't really change the suspension from base suspension. You get some different plastic bumpers, a different steering wheel & sport seats. I suggest you use www.google.com and bmwusa.com and reading through this forum. |

Steering wheel makes it worth it. it's beautiful, feels good in the hands, and is smooth leather.
Wouldn't get another BMW car without M Sport. Too bad that car is X Drive without DHP.

M sport for the x drive doesn't mean much, except that it will lack the 704 suspension, so unless it has the DHP, which is rare from the dealer, it will usually be the worst suspension tune that BMW offers.

As someone posted above, the M-Sport package is a $3,000 option. So, if you are asking how much more a pre-owned vehicle with the M-Sport package would cost, I would say roughly $1,000 more than a non-M-Sport car.
Aside from that, the appearance aspects of the M-Sport package are well worth it.

M-sport is simply different. "Better" looking is a personal choice. 2016 Msport is $2600 for 340i, and for that you get the M steering wheel and the M body kit, Msport suspension, M footrest (not in beige interior). What's interesting on the 2016 demo configurator is that Msport shows 4 pot front and 2 pot rear calipers. That's different than pre LCI where Msport showed the same calipers as a standard 335i. I haven't read that BMW upgraded the Msport pkg brakes from what they were before, but the pictures look different. 328i Msport pkg also upgrades the front calipers to 4 pot fixed and 2 pot fixed rear calipers, along with larger than stock rotors. Msport pkg brakes also get higher friction pads vs the stock brakes. At least up to pre LCI the Msport pkg brakes had the higher friction pads, and I'll guess they still do. It's a pricey pkg, but you do get some nice mechanical upgrades along with the cosmetic pkg. For $1700 you can get the track pack that has M-sport brakes, adaptive suspension, VSS, and dark grey wheels w/non RFT tires. Seems this package replaces the former "sport" package, but not includes VSS, blue Msport brakes, and Madaptive suspension. The former sport pkg included sport seats and the static Msport suspension. Sport seats are not standard on the 3 series for 2016. I'm deciding my exact 340i setup on whether to go with Msport or track pack. I don't want both because I think BMW's pricing to get both is too high. It's like you pay to get some upgrades and then pay to remove some of those upgrades. For example the wheels. If you get Msport you get the Msport upgraded wheels, but then when you add the track pack it removes those wheels and adds the dark gray only wheels. IMO the dark gray are not an upgrade just different. Track pack with Msport should allow the option to keep the Msport wheels and not force the buyer to get the dark gray wheels. Track pack is pretty much the former DHP-dynamic handling package, which came with VSS and Madaptive suspension, and now also includes the blue Msport brakes. DHP was $1000. Blue Msport brakes were $650. Total $1650. Track pack is now $1700 and forces you to get the dark gray wheels. I would love to be able to get the silver painted version of those wheels just like the 340i w/track pack cars BMW had for the press release. I called BMW to ask if we in the US can get those track pack wheels in silver paint, but it's a "No". I don't hate the gray wheels, but I also don't love them. To me they look better in silver. I'm split on the m sport and sportline front ends and fascia, I don't think either one is clearly better, the thing that does look better is being a little lower, but that doesn't apply to the x drives, so I went with sportline and dhp.

Then you should be able to negotiate a few thousand off. If you're in or near Chicago, NYC, Boston, car should be cheaper since there are more of them. However, just X Drive with no DHP sucks balls.

Some others may say it can be coded, but it's a little more to it. If you decide to go with that particular car, that's at least worth $3K off alone based on principle. Make sure the sales guy knows that you know the difference. Standard auto and X Drive means the M sport is just a cosmetic package.

Exactly. You can't code paddles to appear. If you have to reach down to the stick anyway you lose a lot of the speed int he shifts (the transmission is just as quick but the delay in reaching down and taking your hand off the wheel is added in where paddles don't have that issue).
