lap timers and HPDEs
So I'm signed up for my 2nd HPDE in a few months, and I was looking into recording my runs with Harry's Lap Timer and a Gopro.
I know that HPDE's are specified as "non-competitive, non-timed" -- will there be any issue with me using a personal lap timer? I don't want to buy a bunch of stuff and then have my instructor say I can't use it |

They usually are not an issue, some groups do not let you use transponders. I would get a go pro, that's easy to see how your driving. If you are going to use a lap timer be very careful how you use the data. If this is only your second event just worry about driving a clean line and keeping the car balanced. Speed, and everything else is second to those two things. You cant run a marathon before you learn to walk. Also make sure your instructor knows what they are doing. Many so called instructors know little more than there students and perpetuate bad driving. |

Harry's is very helpful in the data that you can look at. I use it every time.
