Angel eyes imbalanced brightness left-to-right

Hello chaps. It was pointed out to me today that my nearside (left) inner angel eye ring is noticeably less bright than the other side.

The car is standard OEM 100%

Any ideas?

I believe each inner angel eye turns brighter than the other when the wheels are pointing left , or right "with the headlights on" to eluminate your driving path at low speeds. just make sure its not that before digging further

Thanks but I don't think it's that. I'm talking about the DRLs only. Headlamps off. And I've now looked head-on into them in many different scenarios. The left inner DRL is definitely not as bright as the right.

Maybe the 'bulb' holder is not fully seated, or the bulb is on its way out?

The good news is the nearside is easier to remove and check.

Are the rings each illuminated by a single bulb?

One H8 35W bulb illuminates both rings.

I replaced mine with Phillips Diamond Vision upgrades as they're a lot whiter and a better match to the LED brow. Not perfect but a vast improvement as I didn't fancy going down the aftermarket LED route.

BMW actually offer their own whiter replacement now although I don't know how good they are.

Ooohh. Spangly. Thanks for the link. I will keep this in mind as I investigate. I'll probably take it to BMW as a first port of call.
