Question for People With VRSF IC

I installed my 7" IC over a year ago and have had no problems with it at all. This is not be bashing the product.

Today I had the turbo to IC coupler blow off. Upon inspection, the coupler is still attached but the clamp blew off the coupler and is on the pipe connecting the turbo. The coupler is very loose on the plastic pipe and I can even stick my finger all the way in between the pipe and coupler. Now I can't remember if this is how loose it was when I installed it, or if over a year the coupler has stretched out to this.

So people that have installed a VRSF IC, is your coupler (the one attached to the factory plastic pipe coming off the turbo) about a half inch in diameter too wide?

The silicone doesn't stretch, the t-bolts have lock nuts so they shouldn't loosen, there's a good chance the t-bolt wasn't placed directly after the bead and it finally worked itself off. I'd retighten the t-bolt and make sure it's placed directly after the bead.

I was concerned because I can fit my finger between the bead and the silicone easily. I clamped it back down, but don't feel very confident about it not leaking. I am pretty sure if I clamp it down anymore it will break the plastic pipe. I guess once a year isn't bad to have a coupler go. Now someone just needs to make a metal turbo to IC pipe.

The bead is the part on the end of the pipe. If you can get a finger in between the bead and the pipe, the clamp is probably not on the car or the coupler isn't on the pipe

Haha yes, the clamp was off at that point. I know where to put the clamp. I was more concerned that there was about half an inch extra of silicone around the pipe and clamping it would cause a crease. We will see how long this lasts. Like I said, once a year isn't too bad.
