What size tint films do I need for an E92?

I want to tint the front windshield and the front two windows. The rest of the car already has tints.

Whatever size the tint shop orders. Seriously, I've never seen anyone do tint themselves that lasts and looks good. Go to a reputable shop and have them match the rear tint.

Second thing: don't tint your windshield. Other than being illegal, it's dangerous. Buy a sunshade for when you park the car and a pair of sunglasses for when you're driving it.

3m crystalline is pretty expensive, which is why I wanted to get it myself, a shop will still install it.

90% VLT should be fine on the front windshield right? I don't want to tint the front just block heat.

Why the heck would you tint the windshield especially if it's not for heat... It's illegal, dangerous and will me really hard to see at night.

Why not just spend the $200 and have it done properly? I swear you always have the worst ideas.

And you've never been able to read properly.

bk335 it is for heat. 90% VLT is barely even noticeable.

Even if it's barely noticeable during the day, it'll be really noticeable at night and it's just a bad idea. If you get into an accident and they realize you have your front windshield tinted you'll be screwed most likely.

I had a friend that had a Cadillac CTS that tinted his windshield slightly and I drove it once at night and every oncoming headlight and streetlight was blurry and had a starburst effect and made it hard to judge distances. It's just a bad idea in general.

tint usually comes on rolls. I'm not sure of the width. You should get a tape measure and figure it out from there. Fwiw, I let the pros do mine.

nobody will know what "size" you need. Why? because tint is not something you should be doing yourself esp if you don't know what "size" you need.

Tint should be done by a professional for safety reasons alone. Not only that but tint installation require heatguns to heat/form the film and special techniques.

Don't be cheap have it done professionally.

Just in case you aren't a reasonable person heres a link for you:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALL-PRECUT-W...5ea207&vxp=mtr

i assume quality is not of the up-most importance for obvious reasons.

You will need 2 hogsheads of tints. Or just take that fucker to a tint shop and let the pros handle it.

I disagree. I have the windshield tinted on my car and I only notice it when using polarized sunglasses. I don't even realize its there at night. Keeps the interior much cooler too.

I tinted my car myself and you will need approximately 1 windshield size sheet for the windshield, and 2 side window size sheets for the side windows.

And then when you get in an accident with the windshield tinted, you will need one large wallet for the fine and subsequent loss of claim from the insurance company due to an illegally modified vehicle. Enjoy.

FWIW, 3M crystalline tint is legal on the windshield in a lot of places. It's 90% so it allows 90% of light to go through which is above the threshold even for windshields. It's truly used just to block heat.

And I think OP wanted to buy tint and then take it to a shop for them to install? But I'm not sure if that saves any money at all because most shops buy in bulk rolls and it's cheaper than buying just a small amount that someone is cutting off a roll. It's probably easier to just negotiate with the installer.
