Power steering noise

Happen awhile back, but was too busy to share..

Was having noise issues from engine compartment area while driving, sounded like worn bearings, and fairly loud. Nothing showed up on dash, did a system check on dash results was 'ok'

Long story short, found out it was: low power steering fluid. Which gets me thinking, its a BMW.. with sensors for pretty much everything, how come they ain't no warning / sensor for of all things 'power steering fluid' ??//

Perhaps because the power steering reservoir is so easily accessible and simple to check.

Sorry, but this car already has enough sensors and electronic stuff.

EDIT: And I'd trade the oil level sensor for a dipstick in a heartbeat!
