New underseat 8" option from Rockford Fosgate

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/News/....aspx?id=14220

will be interesting to see the specs on this one. Aspects of it look like the oem underseats.

they list the frequency range from 30-250. If they could play with good spl from 40-200 they should be very interesting.

How much of an "upgrade" would this be over the stock Logic 7 underseat subs?

I already have a 12" in the trunk, but I'm just curious.

Besides saving on trunk space, why would one rather go this route than simply adding an amp and sub in the trunk?

if you read the audio threads you'll see that many have upgrade their systems with new amps and speakers and dsp's and not messed with the sub in the trunk. some of us in the older generation don't think it cool to have a sub in the trunk.

Would these provide any noticeable difference by themselves when driven off the stock L7 amp?

I love the sudden increase of vendors doing drop-in upgrades for our cars. Just installed MB Quart's QM200.3 system in my car last week and I love the way it sounds...Rockford's newer stuff is a little overpriced if you ask me though so I'm not having high hopes for this being a budget underseat

Are you using the stock L7 amp? What have you noticed compared to the stock L7 system? And did you replace the rear speakers too or just what was in the MB Quart kit?

So update: does anyone use these? My stock underseats aren't doing anything at all. My audio is all screwed up and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it all. These look like a promising option.

Are they not doing anything in a literal meaning?. My passenger side under seat is shot and just crackling, curious if this is common. If so it's kind of disappointing. As if the N54 isn't enough of a money pit now the audio system has a very minimal life span.

If you got the base system you need to do

If you got the base system you need to do the standard base
system fixes . There is no easy way out for this if you want an
audio system that matches the quality of your car. The model
years effected in the US are 2010 and early 2011. If you are in the
rest of the World it could be any year.

The standard fix is New Front Door and Floor speakers.
A recode or frequency flattening device like the Jl Cleansweep
or a processor processor/map
A amp or processor amp.

There are a lot of new speaker combo's out but the ones
that have been reviewd here and are known to be good by reviews
are Jehnerts , Morels and Gladen's .
