New Member with a new Daily Driver!

Hello E90post!

Been browsing the forum the past couple of weeks while I made the decision to buy my car, and now that I've pulled the trigger it's time I introduced myself. My name is Jonathan, I live in Canada and up until recently was daily driving a '99 Jetta 2.0. The time had finally come to move on from my poor little Jetta, which despite me driving like the 911 never gave up on me and never complained about the abuse I put it through!

So Friday I traded it in and picked up my new beast....

2011 335 xdrive sedan "special edition" with 59k (km) on it
6-speed manual (had to be)
M sport package, performance parts power kit, performance parts sport exhaust etc...
Full warranty until Feb 2019/200,000km

I couldn't be happier! I spent Friday evening just driving around with a shit-eating grin on my face, then Saturday made the 500kW drive from Toronto to Ottawa. I absolutely love the car and am even happier than I anticipated being. Also a well-deserved shoutout to Budd's BMW in Hamilton where I bought the car. They were first class throughout the whole process and definitely went above and beyond expectations to ensure I was satisfied.

Ok, no more typing, some pics:

Home next to my pride and joy:

Let's see if this works... although I'm sure everyone here has heard this exhaust before:

Congratulations on the new car! It looks very nice. That exhaust is pretty nice sounding to. Must be the BMW PE exhaust. Enjoy your new car and happy modding!

Awesome car! Wish they had the Special Edition package in the US. It's pretty much a 335is sedan in everything but the name, and you get bonus goodies like M3 carbon leather trim, individual piano black center trim, and individual audio.

Beautiful! Congratulations on your new car!

I wasn't aware of this special edition available in Canada but it sure is nice!
I especially like the 313 wheels on it but agree it would look better if lowered.

I must say if it similar to the US version of the 335is as stated by VTECaddict, I am jealous of the interior trim compared to the trim in my car!

Enjoy it!

Wow, it is just like the 335is in the States.

Congrats!

My current mod plan is to add all the "is" accouterments to my 328. Love the Style 313 wheels!

Thank-you! It is the PE exhaust, which was definitely a bonus when I looked at the car! No mods planned yet for this car, all my mod money went into the 911 (which I track) earlier this year!

They were a pleasant surprise! Very happy with them. Now I need to start thinking about picking up a used set for winter... what are some favourites? I was thinking black wheels would look mean in the winter, contrasting with the snow.

It does look a bit high doesn't it? What's involved? I don't want it too low for blasting through snow in the winter...

The 911 is my baby, have had it 3.5yrs. I was a bit worried when I picked up the 335 driving home that it would take away from the 911 (the 335 is def faster in a straight line) but Saturday I jumped in the 911 to go for a drive and immediately realized it is such a special car it couldn't be replaced. If anything, the two cars compliment each other well because they are SO different but both incredible in their own ways.

I was pleasantly surprised, to be honest I didn't even know there was a special edition until I came across this car! I was actually looking for a 328xi, drove one and liked it a lot (especially compared to the A4 I drove the day before) and was pretty set on that as soon as one came up in 6sp with sport package (both were must haves). Then the sales guy mentioned that this 335 special edition came in a few days earlier... was a later build year with better CPO and lower finance rates. I said "bring it around let's take it out!" and the rest is history lol.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Not sure what will be the first mod... maybe black out the kidneys. Other than that I'm pretty happy with how it is and I have CPO for another 3.5yrs so it will stay fairly stock. The 911 gets all the mods!

The wheels really make it for me... and yes the interior trim from the M3 is pretty nice. I got lucky! The colour is interesting too (Jerez black) as it almost looks like dark blue in direct sunlight.

Good plan - that will really bring out the 328's style!

LOL! I work in the power generation industry... guess I'm so used to writing "kW" I didn't even think when I went to write km!! Nice catch!

Nice sedan! I like those wheels too. Love the 5-dual-spoke style. But yours are slightly different, the spokes on my 313s are almost parallel, these look like they angle outwards and the spokes get fatter towards the barrel? Anyone know what this style is?

Chiming in again, other than a drop and exhaust tips I can't think of anything else I'd do to that car. Looks great. The guy above looks like he has M5 wheels, for what it's worth. Also a nice style.
