Bad dealership experiences, chime in plz..

So I've been chasing this issue for the past few weeks of my car intermittently smoking, and I was told first by BMW it was my injectors and everything else is fine so I replaced them. After $1k thrown down on injectors it still smokes so I brought it right back and requested a free diagnosis since I was misdiagnosed the first time.. Well 3 days later I have gotten no phone calls so I decide to call them and do a little check to see how it's going, and the SA says I need to replace my spark plugs when I just replaced them 2 days before I just brought my car back in to them..!! I'm seriously contemplating taking my car out of there and bringing it to an indy, I'm not a very satisfied BMW owner/customer as of this point...!! /rant

That sucks. Take it out and go to an Indy or a different dealership. I brought my car to a dealership once for a check engine light. They said I needed a new MAF sensor and reset my light. Two days later my light came back with the same code. Brought it to a different dealership and they said they had no idea what the other dealership was talking about, fixed the issue, service manager drove it home over night to make sure the light didn't come back.

Never been to the first dealership since that

yeah

bought my car a year ago, noticed it had been in for water pump at a dealership under warranty

get a thermostat light a few months back, figure the guy cheaped out and wouldn't cough up extra for tstat while they were in there, so they just did pump under warranty

pull the pump, find out they snapped off one of the bolts inside the block, destroyed the thread trying to back it out, then just put the bottom two bolts back and pretended nothing happened

thanks a lot, Crevier...

I dont have any to share cause I wont let them touch my car.
In fact other than tires and an alignment no one's touched my car but me and I havent had one issue with my car in the 2 years Ive owned it and Ive done alot of shit to it.

But I understand and respect not everyone is not setup to DIY but from all the stuff I hear on this website I would try to find a trusted indy over the dealership and thats not even taking $$$$ into consideration (dealership is obviously more coin).

Way too many horror stories on this site with dealerships and they are the supposed authority on these cars.

Yeah man it's crazy, when the authorized retailer of these vehicles is misdiagnosing as bad as they are it really puts me an in awkward trust position with them.. I called another local dealership, BMW of Naples and explained to them what was going on and they were in shock and said if I'd like to bring it there they'd give me a free diagnostic if BMWNA ordered it to be done.. But tbh I just want my damn car back and want it running right..! I don't care if I have to spend a few bucks to get it to stop smoking but I'm not gonna keep spending thousands on guesses, not cool..

my worst dealership visit was a nightmare. They only had glazed donuts, and were out of fresh coffee. Almost sold my car.

But in all seriousness, I highly doubt your car would be smoking from a fueling issue, and any mechanic should know that. Cars typically smoke from Oil and Coolant issues. One of those are my guess. What color smoke is it?

White/Coolant, Blue/Oil, Black/Fuel is the creed I've always lived by as well but in this case I'm thinking there may be an underlying issue that nobody can seem to figure out..
