Heads up! GC 0w-30 at Pep Boys for cheap.

Just thought I'd share, German Castrol 0w-30 (Part number 06244) is currently $6.37 per qt if you order online and pick up in-store (at least in the DFW area, it is). Use AUG30 to get 30% off orders over $60. Seven qts comes out to $44.52.

so, still more expensive than walmart's normal price, even on sale

$25.97 or so for a 5qt, so just over $5/qt everyday pricing

Neither of those are the GC. As far as I know, the 0w-30 is the only German-made Castrol.

key phrase: as far as you know

Here's the data sheet straight from castrol showing 0-40 and the 5-40 as BMW Longlife 01

Not available at my Walmart. Bear in mind all Walmarts don't carry the same stuff.
If I needed oil I would jump on the deal mentioned.
YMMV applies well here...

Advance Auto has Pentosin Pento HP 5W30 as another alternative LL-01 speced oil. Not as cheap as Walmart European Castrol or Mobil 1 though.
