A Pillar Installation Trouble

What's up everyone

I removed the a-pillar cover to clean/reconnect sunroof drainage hoses on my e90 335xi. Everything is back in place except that damn cover. There's two tabs extruding from the bottom of the cover that are supposed to fit into slots on the dash but I can't seem to get them back in place. Does anyone have some useful hints or tricks to getting this piece back in? I've tried nudging the tabs with a long screwdriver but that isn't working.

Thanks in advance
