Good summer tires for under $120/tire

After the driving school event yesterday my tires are pretty worn out. Guess all season tires aren't really aren't the best for a of autocross-style driving.

After talking with one of the guys there he recommended that I get some summer performance tires. What do you guys have/recommend?

So far I looked around and it seems like the Continental Extremecontact DW are the best for $120/tire.

Thanks!

Low Price, high quality, longevity. Pick two.

Also, what size tires do you need? 16s? 17s? If they're 16s, DiscountTireDirect.com has the Michelin Pilot Super Sports (they are the overwhelming favorite by the people on this site) and they're $121.00 per tire. If you're running 17s, they'll cost you a little more, but they'd be worth it.

you must have small tires... Conti DW are good for the price, however go for the Pilot Super Sports if you can!

I've been pretty happy with my Dunlop Direzza DZ102's. I believe they're in that price range. Very good dry and wet weather traction. I couldn't see the added benefit of getting a more expensive tire for a daily driver.

achilles atr sport have been really good for me. but they suck ass in the rain. once warmed up, they have really good grip. they last a long time as well.

There's a thread in the tire section on knockoff tires try that.

Otherwise, don't cheap out on one of the most important parts. You drive a Goddam bmw, albeit a 328.

So you have small wheels and tires. 4 Michelin pilot super sports, the best summer tire by far, are only $564. That's a steal.

Got Michelin PSSs too! Great gripping summer tires on wet or dry roads. Less expensive than Conti DWs and perform just as well.

Actually they're more expensive than the DW but also perform a lot better than the DW. Worth every penny IMO.

The DW's will feel very soft compared to stock runflats, especially on a 17" wheel that will have more sidewall than larger 18 and 19" wheels. The Contis seem to perform better on the larger wheels with the shorter sidewalls and more psi.

since you have 17" wheels, I'd say go for the PSS.

Hmm. Interesting. When I got my PSSs 2 years ago, they cost less than the DWs. Must've been having a special going on at the tire shop where I got them.

Probably the case. MPSS have gotten extremely popular in the last year or two and I think the price has crept up a lot faster than most tires. Bottom line is, they're phenomenal tires.

Yeah. That's probably the case. Michelin is most likely banking on their popularity and, of course, jacking up the price very subtly to increase profits.
Well worth every penny as you said.
Definitely will go with these again when it's time to replace my current ones.
