So how do my plugs look?

I gave my 2007 335i a service the other day even though it has FSH, just because I like to know exactly what oil etc is in it!
The air filter was only very slightly dirty but I can definitely feel an improvement in low down power after fitting the new one.

Its only done 17k miles from new so has never had the spark plugs changed, since doing so it idles a little bit smoother ( was pretty much ok anyway ) and generally feels a little bit more responsive - heres what they looked like, although the crappy iphone camera has made them look a bit more red than the brown they really are :

Check this out.

tl'dr: okay, red due to additives in the gasoline.

NOTE: your pic is a bit fuzzy so we can't see too well about deposits or gap issues.

I know my hands were dirty and I didn't want to touch my phone too much so sorry about the poor pic.

The gaps were just the same as those of the Bosch plugs I replaced them with.

Indications are good plugs, little to no wear. Plus you said you changed them out at 17k miles? That's awful short. Tuned, I'd say maaaaaybe 15-20k miles. More likely, 30k miles for engines with tunes on them.

Untuned, probably close to official specs, which I believe are 60k miles these days.

Well I reckoned as they've been in there since 2007 it was about time to change them. Also, some people seem to have had problems with engines adapting from old well used plugs to brand new ones, so thought Id play it safe and change them while they were still in good order. I thought that way theres less of a sudden change in spark.

Well it never really hurts to put new plugs in--our engines really really like good spark plugs.

It definitely starts a bit quicker and it feels a little more responsive. I'll leave them in for a good while now

Do you ever use octane booster? Octane booster will make your plugs turn orange/brown
