Drill bit + Pirelli = Tow (PICS)

So yesterday on my way to work started out great.. Car was running beautifully on the nice 65 degree morning. A little spirited driving but nothing outrageous UNTIL I came to a light making a left turn and heard a small noise like I might have ran something over in the road.. Couldn't have been driving more than 25mph. Then I heard this hissing noise and I already knew it wasn't good.. Sure enough the screen showed the rear right tire low and low tire pressure symbol. GREAT. I pulled over and the tire was flat in a matter of two minutes. I (like an idiot) went searching in the trunk for the spare tire, and then realized that BMW got away with not including a spare because they come stock with run flats.. So now I'm stuck on the side of the highway and had to call AAA. Cops came it was a whole mess. Got to work and found out I ran over a DRILL BIT.

Got to drive home a pre-owned ecoboost Escape last night because the tires I had to order didn't get in until this morning (I work at a ford dealer) and the previous owner must have messed with it because it had this ridiculously loud BOV lol. That was entertaining at least. Oh well, I ended up with some new rubber out of the whole ordeal even though the tires that were on it were pretty much new and after taking a closer look I probably could have got away with a patch but lmk what you think. Picked up Michelin Pilot Super Sport 255/35/ZR18's. Hopefully this doesn't happen again

I've had a construction nail like three times bigger than that puncture the tire. Surprisingly it didn't even leak air I noticed it when I was at my parents house. Went to discount tire and patched it up!

The tire could've been saved easily and I would suggest to get a compressor just in case! I used it in the middle of the night and saved a bunch of people who didn't know how to change out a flat.

Yeah I might have jumped the gun on the new tires. But now I got a brand new set so I cant be that upset.. plus my friend is going to use them on his 1-series.

Yeah that guy was actually really cool. Normally I don't have too many nice things to say about cops, but this guy was just making sure I was ok and he actually helped get the tow truck there quickly so I wouldn't be as late to work.. I was just b/s-ing with him while the guy took his time getting the car on the flatbed without scraping it.

Besides carrying a spare, I've got a small air compressor and a plug tool and plugs in my storage bin just for those kind of issues.

State Troopers here put spare tires on for folks. I see it about once a week.
