a/c question

Is it normal when you press AUTO that the fan does not adjust itself and that you have no manually adjust the fan speed???

Ex: its 95 degrees outside and I set the A/c to 70 auto. The fan doesn't increase on its own. I have to manually adjust the fan speed to make the car cooler.

Isn't the AUTO button suppose to adjust its own fan speed like the E82?

This is the case on the 2013 335i that I just bought. I find it quite strange that the fan speed isn't automatic - it was on my 2010 Mini Cooper S for fucks sake
