Looking to get coding done
Looking for someone who can do some coding for me. I'm located in NH and can travel (within reasonable distance) to get it done
EDIT: So I contacted Ultimate Bimmer Service and they told me it would be a total of 2 hours to do 2 codes. The price they quoted me at to do this was $185.40. They also told me they'd need my car for the day (why is beyond me when they stated it would take 2 hours). They also told me that there is a 'chance' that a module would not accept the updates during coding and wouldn't be recoverable. They stated this was rare, but could happen and wanted to forewarn me of this. My question is - Does this all sound normal? Would it really take 2 hours to do 2 codes? Is that a reasonable price for coding? I literally have zero knowledge of coding, what's involved, how long it takes, or how much it costs. Hoping some other forum members will chime in here.. Somewhat related topic- the entire internet is devoid of clear instructions on how to update the maps on a CCC NAV... i have two of these damn things (328 and m3) and both have '08 maps... Im pretty sure its a simple matter of finding the right torrent and burning to a DVD, but-- who on here has done this / knows how to do this / is better at searching the internet then me? Ive got what i think is the right torrent downloading now (at a pathetic 498KB/s) but then again its downloading to a rooted android over a ahhh eh em corporate wifi network.
help? Clear instructions / links to known working torrents / anything? |

A guy on the forums sells the most updated DVDs for $20. I bought two from him. Ships usps. You will have to search to find him I deleted his PMs long ago. They do every once in a while not read right and I have to take the dvd out and reinsert and it rereads. Only annoying if you are right about to take a turn.

Out of curiosity, i pulled the factory disc from my car- heres whats on it Theres even .GIF files buried in the folder structure, so nothing amazingly complex here. Fun fact for anyone with the CCC system - the OS it runs is known as "VxWorks" and its the same OS the Mars Rover and Honda Asimo use, among many other less glamours examples. Ill keep "hacking" away and if i can make this happen - ill be happy to share my findings. |

I mean I could send you a dvd and you could copy it. but it's like 2014 I think. He also did the light scribe on it so it looks real iirc.
The guy I found it was $20 shipped which he makes probably 18 bucks a dvd.

I don't know much. You can buy the cable and download the android app and do it yourself. PM Z for more info he has it. but he is on his way to NJ for bimmerfest so he probably will not get back. Or you can buy the cable and download the software to a lap top and do it that way, different software. Or find someone with the stuff and pay $. I should get off my lazy ass and buy the stuff as I own 3 of these cars and I am a cuckold.

If i WERE to code, i would definitely use the Carly APP based system https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...whatFull&hl=en This eliminates the need to understand German and takes so much of the "manual labor", ie reading and re-writing the module codings, and therefore, all of the risk out of it. You'll need a bluetooth adapter or a cable depending on the build date of your car. example here: http://www.ivini-tech.de/en/adapter/...dapter/a-1002/ and you can free trial it to confirm the app will work with your car. (just cant write until you pay). Buy this stuff, code a couple other peoples cars for 50 bucks or whatever and youll have paid for the adapter and app. (im assuming the app doesnt lock to a specific VIN to prevent people form monetizing it.) |

Are you talking about the BavTech cable or something of that nature? I had actually emailed them regarding coding LCI tail lights and they told me their cable/software wasn't currently capable of doing that.. Thanks for that info, now I know. I honestly thought what they told me seemed crazy, the price, time and everything. |
