BMW European Delivery for UK customers
Hello everyone,
Does anyone know exactly why is it not possible to pick-up the car at BMW Welt for the UK customers? I came across some discussions, but nothing that really bottoms out the issue. Also, is there a way around it that someone recommends? I am sure there must be a way, but any hints could be helpful. A friend would do anything to be able to pick-up his M4 convertible in Munich, so we are trying to find out any possibilities. Many thanks in advance! |

Can any European customers?
I'm pretty sure it's done as a tax loophole for the USA based customers, hence the discount they receive. As we're in the EU, I expect that loophole isn't there, and therefore not worth their effort. You always used to be able to spec factory delivery for Porsche, but I think it was extra on the UK price......not sure if you still can.

Threads cover this before.
Too many RHD owners wrecking their cars/lives/fellow motorists on the Autobahn in their new powerful toys! Boo.

Well that's what your dealer told you. My dealer told me it was RHD related as did Merc recently. Considering a warranty is a piece of paper and the car being collected would be UK spec it's hard to see why a warranty would genuinely prevent it.
Plus the U.S. Warranty is 50,000 miles or 4 years but European Delivery trips are fine...? Weird policy really turning down a revenue stream and enthusiasts etc. might be warranty but odd really.
