Hello forum,

A friend's 1M was stolen yesterday night, in Athens, in Petroupolis area. The car was wrapped in Vivid Blue, has BBS 19'' wheels, Bildstein B16, Akrapovic exhaust system, Boca diffuser, Boca frontspoiler, PP spoiler, PP steering wheel with display, Power Dome hood carbon, Cobb chargepipe and BMS downpipes.

The car has Swiss number plates.

If you see something on ebay or in another forum, please send a message here.

Share the info if you want.

Thank you in advance.

this is so shit....my guess is they have probably removed the blue wrap....so keeping an eye out for a BSM one is likely the situation....unless they are too stupid to realise it's a wrap.

Hope it gets found! :/

Car's original colour is black..so there is a possibility they removed the wrap. Who knows..

Yes, especially on ebay or BMW forums.

Anyone who stole this undoubtedly knows exactly what it is. The car is worth way more in one piece than it would be worth parting it out. It may have even been stolen "to order."

If I had to guess, I'd say it went immediately into some kind of container, and may already be loaded onto a ship; Athens is on the coast, and is a major shipping port, after all. The authorities at ports are generally much more interested in stuff coming into the country than going out of it. Russia and China, plus any of a number of dictatorships would be the likely destinations, anywhere that the car would not be looked for or found.

Barring the extremely unlikely possibility that this was stolen by an amateur, my guess is that the car is gone for good, unfortunately.

That's such a bummer. I'd never take my eyes off it. That blue is gorgeous, and it's just asking to get picked up. Even tempting thieves. Was it parked in a garage? Was it broken into (alarm go off)? Or was it one of those deals where they can start it via the OBD port (with the hand held gadget). I don't think it was stolen on a whim, I think some planning went into stealing this one.
Such a shame, what a beautiful 1M

Totally sucks especially after such elaborate (and nice) mods.

Not to pry, but at this point you(r friend) may consider posting the VIN in this thread or registry to facilitate finding it and preventing it from ever being sold complete to an 1addict.

That's the most beautiful color I've seen on a 1M. What a shame, best of luck to your friend finding it.

Since the car stolen was from CH, having it morph into a RHD car overnight would certainly defy logic

In a way we believe the same thing. Few months ago, they've stole an SLS and a Cayman S. Cars were found in a yard in Tirana, Albania and actually the only thing the police found was the shells of each car.

And about importing and exporting..you're right and i agree 100% with you. The authorities at ports are generally much more interested in stuff coming into the country than going out of it. True that.

No, the car was left from the quietly, it wasn't broken. Something with alarm algorithms etc. No trust at all nowadays.

He already did that. He is in Basel now and he started the procedure with the insurance to see what he will do.

Thank you. Btw i'm in a big dilemma. I'm between two blues for my VO 1M. Because the car is a keeper i want to have something special, so i want to paint in (complete work, bare shell etc) in Estoril Blue (the first one) or in Macau Blue to give homage to the M3 E30 Cecotto edition. I'm sure that shades of Estoril Blue are everywhere on the 1M's, wraps or not, so i'm considering seriously to go for Macau! Opinions?

The firmware fix was issued by Bmw for the security loop hole where thieves can use the obd port to program blank keys to steal your car

Issue 19 in the known 1M issues sticky
