My car keeps locking by it self, help!

I have an 07 e92 that more recently locks on its own while my key is in my hand or pocket or even the car. Yes the car does have comfort access and its working correctly other then this automatic locking feature.

Example:

I got out of my car the other night and closed the driver door. Passenger then got out, and closed there door. The minute they shut there door the car locked and flashed as if I pressed the lock button my remote.

Example 2:

My car was running. All windows down (coupe). Open my driver door, left key on seat, got out. Closed door. Car locked and windows rolled up. Key still inside car. I only have 1 set so luckily I was able to pull the handle and open the door in time.

More often then not I drive alone, get out, key in pocket car locks for me.. On occasion it's nice but seriously locking on its own can be dangerous... Not sure what kind of fix can be done here.

About 4 months ago I replaced my battery, never had it programed... 2 months later the stater went, had it replaced at an Indy shop.

No other major work done.

Anyone experience this?

Your battery is now probably being overcharged as it wasn't registered and the IBS thinks the old battery is still there, so I wonder if that higher voltage is affecting other electrical components...

It may be worth it to have the new battery registered.

Just verifying your knowledge....

Is the autolock feature enabled in the central locking menu?

You do know that with CA that if you touch/hold the little rumble strip on the door handles when you close the door and the car is unlocked, it will lock at that point.

My car does this too! Ever since the dealer did some software update. The damn thing randomly locks itself when I leave the car. Like once in a blue moon, it locks itself.

There is a feature in your center console locking setting.

Something like Lock if door are closed.

Maybe it is causing the problem.
