Destroyed front driver side top mount

Hit a pot hole pretty hard last night. Broke my top mount... Hope the coilover is okay. Ordered the part n no tools to look to see if there is any damage until this weekend. It clunks every time I hit a bump. Will have to not drive till the part comes.

You are right, you definitely should not drive it like that. You could easily damage more than what has already been, including the control arms and the strut itself too.

Looks like he was running Bilstein B14's. Anyone know if you can replace these top hats with aftermarket camber plates? (Sorry I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to suspension).

Happened to me on some b8's. Top mounts are too weak for stiff struts + stiff tires Imo. I just replaced them with oem top mounts. So far so good. Parts guy said its a revised part but looks the same to me.

Yes I have bilstein b14's, looks like no other dmg was done. Top mount is actually reused from oem on the b14's. Sucks not having a car, my mechanic is also on vacation until Monday. I got the new revised part from bmw. I hope it's stronger. $170 new, $88 after military discount.

Won't have the top mount replaced until Monday.
Hope no other dmg was done.

How did you get this for $88 after mili? That's some crazy discount of almost 50%

Schomp bmw loves military I guess. Very close to ecs pricing. Heads up guys, the bolts are different with the top mount. Car is back and driving great now. Oh I've missed this
