Dropped off car at Turner today
So I drop off my car at Turner today to put on some Koni shocks and Eibach springs. The service advisor was ready to say bye before I told him my desired firmness settings. I said, it's really important that you get the rears adjusted correctly because you have to remove the whole shock assembly to adjust them again. He said "Really?" in disbelief. Now I'm suddenly feeling nervous that they will forget to adjust my shocks before installing them and I have no idea what the factory settings are. I know they usually use Bilstein shocks, but those are too firm for my bad back so I went with Koni's instead. What do you think my chances are that they'll get it right?

just call them and explain if they are not adjusted correctly when you come pick the car up they will be responsible for adjusting them including eating all the labor. make sure they note on the work order for the mechanic your desired strut settings.Explain this is because of your bad back and very important and they will take care of you. Make sure you speak to the service manager not some receptionist.
I thought you just had to remove the inner trunk lining to adjust most struts... Let me ask you a question, can someone still be a true car enthusiast if they do not wash their own car by hand?

I'm not understanding the car wash question. I usually pay someone to detail/wash the car. I don't care if anyone considers me a true car enthusiast or not, I just want to know my car is being taken care of whether it's by me or by someone else |

Out of curiosity I searched "center cap" and Torgus and see he's got a fascination with center caps. I have a strange feeling my center caps will be missing when I go fetch my car. BTW I don't even own a 3 series, but these forums get a lot more traffic than the New England Z4 forums which haven't had any new posts in about a year.

Next: Would you pay money into a kickstarter type fund for a member of the forums who does not have center caps? Like we all get together and raise the money for the caps. I would kick it off with $50 to start. We only need to raise $200. Would you contribute? I do luv me some battaries! Don't worry bro, I have all my centercaps. Now you could be right about being worried about someone else's nefarious activities but I don't think the OEMs would fit.

Pricey buggers. But my $50 would buy one. So we just need $150 more. Or $5 each from 30 people Or $10 each from 15 people Or $15 each from 10 people I think it should be very doable.

Do certain people's lips dry out faster than others? Like the ONLY time in my life I used it was when skiing for days at a time. Last winter I was snow blowing once a day basically and the air was super dry no male lipstick needed. I don't even stay hydrated I drink like a fish. I honestly never understood the need other than winter sports...
