Hi-FI AMP Harness

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
BMW HI-FI amp connector harness for upgrading to aftermarket amplifier. Please note this amp connector harness will only work with OEM 42-pin Hi-Fi AMP connector and will not work on vehicles equipped with Harmon Kardon (HK) sound system. It is designed for plug-n-play application without cutting or splicing factory wiring harness for installation of aftermarket amplifier(s). All wires are thin-walled automotive wire specification meeting or exceeding OEM wire size, 18 AWG for all signal and output wires and 12 AWG for subwoofer output wires. Signal wires are equipped with high quality gold plated metal male RCA connectors, not the cheap plastic one. All wires are crimped and soldered to ensure secure connection. Two different configurations are available for specific installation needs. The basic version comes with four channels signal output (FL, FR, RL, RR) and a remote wire. It is designed for those who just want the singal wires from the IDrive unit and run their own speaker wires for high power application. The deluxe configuration utilizes all existing OEM wirings for plug-n-play installation for full seven channels if desired, (Front left, Front Right, Center, Rear Left, Rear Right, Left Sub, and Right Sub). Both version can be configured with optional relay for multiple amps/dsp remote turn on application. All wires are labeled and come with connector pins assignment documentation. Please refer to ebay listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/161809291201 for ordering information.

CAF,

I'm new to audio and would like to upgrade my amp.

My question is - with this, I'll be able to buy any 8ch amp and use it?

Marc,

Yes, this is a slight improvement to the "Technic" harness that other members have been using to upgrade to aftermarket amp. That's a ton of info on this forum on amp upgrade. Most people used a six channel amp and skip the center channel all together. Please make sure the amp you purchase accept differential input as most modern amp can. You will need to add your own power and ground wire to complete the installation. I hope this help.

Happy Independence Day weekend!

Do you know if your harnesses fit the F07 based HiFi system?

I believe so, F07/F11 shares the same equipment for hifi audio. You can verify if it has the same 42 pins connector at the amp.

Do you have the "deluxe" harness for 2 subs and 4+1 speakers? I couldn't find it on ebay and would like it shipped to Romania.

I have the stock HiFi and want to upgrade the amp:
