Losing wheel caps
Parked the car this morning and noticed the front driver side wheel cap was missing. Anyone else experienced this?
From a quick forum search, it seems to be a common thing with our cars. A few of my friends with F20 M135i have also lost wheel caps. http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1020076

I've lost the right front twice on the race track. My dealer has charged me for a replacement both times.

I lost a front a few months ago. my dealer didn't want to know anything about it and claimed they hadn't heard of it as a common issue, but were happy to sell me a new one of course. I complained to BMW Australia and they told the dealer to give me 2 for free.
We all need to continue reporting this to BMW Australia so that they know the issue is so common.

Update: I found my wheel cap, it was on my driveway.
To prevent them falling out again I've wrapped tape around the edges to make them fit more snug. I have an old set of caps from my E82 and they are definitely a lot tighter than the F22 ones. The new design is terrible, I can just pull them out easily with a suction cup.

Dealer gave me the 2 today when my car was in for it's first service, only because BMW Australia told them to.

What wheels do you have? I thought this issue was limited primarily to the 436M wheels.

If you haven't already, you should try wrapping masking tape over the edges to make the caps fit more snug...

We may need to remove the caps to (i) replace faded or cracked caps or (ii) spray an entire wheel. if you are like myself - unlikely to keep car long enuff for fading and unlikely to spray wheels, then I suggest that in lieu of tape, apply 3 small droplets of superglue on the edge of each wheel cap before replacing it. They will stay in place and if you really need to take them off for whatever reasons, these 3 small glued contacts could be broken off easily. My caps haven't moved since I applied the glue.
