Suspension Woes

Hey guys, I have a 2013 320d msport here in Sydney Australia and I need some advice as I'm stumped. This afternoon I was driving normally along the motorway and as I was slowing down to exit I might have come up on some irregularity in the road(not to sure as the road felt normal) when I heard a loud bang from the right front wheel area. Upon further inspection I found the suspension in the front to have slid out from under the wheel hub assembly and I am stumped as to how this is possible!? Have anyone of you guys had a similar issue or know of a similar issue. If it helps there was no other damage besides the inside of the tyre rubbing up against the spring retainer and the tyres n rims are fine as well as the rest of the body work. The car has done 52000kms. Any idea how I should go about solving this? Should I take it back to bmw for a warranty claim or im better off sourcing the parts and fixing it myself.Any help and input is great. I have attached pics of the damage.
Thanks guys!*
