a heater I would guess. The water in the lines supposedly drains back to the tank that has a heater I'm sure.
I would be suspect of it if I bought one and wanted to drive in 0 deg F temps. But it's most certainly not meant to be a daily driver in the least. |

Can't you just mix in some methanol to prevent freezing?

That would be my suggestion. IIRC, a 40/60 mix of water/methanol starts to become flammable, hence most suggest a maximum of 50/50. Also I believe a 75/25 mix is good to about 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Windshield washer fluid that is good to -20F is 33% methanol by weight (although it may have some other winterizing additives).
Also, I run only distilled water and methanol in my system. Tap water around here is way too hard to run through an injector. I guess you could run filtered water, but really distilled water is cheap and readily available at the local supermarket. I have a clear white 5 gallon "race" fuel can. I dump in 2.5 gallons of distilled water (they sell distilled water in 2.5 gal jugs) then fill it with methanol. That 5 gallons will generally last me about 3 months or so.

Well the customer is going to have to refill this bottle, I highly doubt most people want to deal with methanol, or the governments around the world want normal people dealing with methanol. I would venture a guess that's why it's only water.
